Several years ago, I made a decision to NOT do a thing I really wanted to do. The deal I made with myself was that if I didn’t take that opportunity, I couldn’t just sit around for the next several years; I needed to get to work doing something else I’d always wanted to do, so I decided to travel.
Traveling had always seemed somewhat out of reach for me. It seemed so expensive, and I had no real idea how to do it. With lots of trepidation, I started saving every penny and booked my first flight with the attitude of Well, we’ll just see how we go.
The day I learned that the only things standing between a place I’d seen in photographs and me were the purchase of a plane ticket and a little bravery, well, that was a very good day indeed.
